About Sierra Sportsmen

The Sierra Sportsmen Network is a countrywide, thousands-strong group of conservation-minded anglers and hunters. Since the Sierra Club was founded in 1892, hunters and anglers have played a leadership role in our work to preserve the wild places and wildlife all Americans enjoy. We have built this community website for anglers and hunters like you, as a place to share your passion for the outdoors!

Our Program

When John Muir and Teddy Roosevelt hiked into the Yosemite Valley together in 1903, they shared a first-hand interest in protecting America's wild places. Muir was a hiker who wanted to wander mountains and valleys that were free of industrial development. Roosevelt was a hunter who wanted to explore dense forests and open fields. They were natural allies.
